Manufacturing Process Of Carbon Steel Pipe Fittings
Manufacturing and inspection: The wall thickness of steel pipes and steel plates, the raw materials for manufacturing pipe fittings, should be selected with positive tolerance wall thickness.
- The carbon steel seamless elbow is formed by medium-frequency hot pushing, and the heating method is medium-frequency induction heating.
- The carbon steel seamed elbow is made of steel plates pressed into two half-shell elbows and then assembled and butt welded into an elbow.
- Carbon steel seamless tee: adopts hot-drawn forming process, and its heating method is electric furnace heating.
- Carbon steel seamed tees are rolled and welded into steel pipes and then hot drawn into shape.
- All pipe caps are molded from steel plates.
- All seamed pipe fittings are welded using manual arc welding (SMAW). Before welding, the buyer must be provided with the welding procedure specification (WPS) and welding procedure qualification record (PQR) of the corresponding material that covers all seamed pipe fittings.
- Heat treatment: The heat treatment method of carbon steel pipe fittings is: normalizing treatment at 890℃~920℃, cooling method: air cooling, and the holding time is determined according to 2.5min/mm wall thickness, not less than 30 minutes.
Machining And Structural Dimensions Of Pipe Fittings

Surface treatment: The surface of all ASME B16.9 pipe fittings is ground to remove internal and external surface defects and oxides, and then shot blasted and rust removed. - Most pipe fitting manufacturers require pickling and passivation because they need to remove weld scars and high-temperature oxide scale on the surface and make the surface color of the pipe fittings uniform and beautiful. Since the carbon steel pickling passivation solution can be recycled repeatedly, it does not evaporate, is not volatile, and does not produce yellow smoke or hydrogen embrittlement. Therefore, it has a good operating environment and does not require special equipment. Therefore, it is mostly used in pickling the surface of pipe fittings.
- Surface electrolytic polishing: fix the carbon steel that needs to be polished on a professional hanger, then turn on the electrolytic polishing equipment, adjust the power supply voltage, and then immerse the fixed pipe fittings in the electrolyte that is powered and heated to 75 degrees. , the general time is 1-3 minutes, until the surface is bright, the workpiece can be taken out and rinsed clean.
