Forging
The selected materials undergo the forging process to shape them into the desired slip-on flange configuration. This involves heating the raw material to a suitable temperature and then applying compressive force to shape it into the required form using forging equipment such as hammers or presses. Precision is crucial during this stage to achieve the correct dimensions and mechanical properties.
Machining
After forging, the rough flange blanks undergo machining to refine their shape and dimensions including processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and threading to achieve the required surface finish, tolerance, and geometry according to the specifications provided by YPF.
Heat Treatment
To enhance the mechanical properties and improve the flanges’ resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, heat treatment is applied. This includes annealing, normalizing, quenching, and tempering.
Quality Control
